Becoming a Network Congregation

Why Become a Host or Support Congregation?

At the core of every faith tradition, be it Christianity, Islam or Judism, is a prophetic call to shelter the homeless.  The Des Moines Area Interfaith Hospitality Network provides a way for congregations of all faiths to respond to this prophetic call.  Becoming a host or support congregation provides congregations:

  • The opportunity for an outreach ministry (within the congregation’s own facilities) focusing on the needs of people in the community.
  • An increased sense of community among members as they work together in shared mission.
  • The opportunity to be part of an interfaith partnership addressing the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community – our children!
